Michael Steele, MS, PCLC

Psychotherapist & Music Therapist

Michael is a Board-Certified Music Therapist. He received a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in music therapy from Lesley University and is also a member of the R.F. Unkefer Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy. In his work with EDCMT, Michael operates from psychodynamic and humanistic perspectives, while also viewing the therapeutic process through a neuroscience lens. His career as a music therapist is born of curiosity about the myriad ways that music can provide a fertile ground for healing. Before joining EDCMT, Michael has worked with individuals with various neurologic injuries and diseases, focusing on rehabilitation of sensorimotor, cognitive, and speech and language functions. Michael is incredibly excited to be a part of EDCMT’s dynamic and multidisciplinary approach to treatment. His interest in serving people with eating disorders arose from recognizing the prevalence of these conditions and the conviction that for this population, positive change is possible.
