What to Expect for Families

If you are worried about a loved one, you’re in the right place. The next step is to reach out.

Understanding your loved one's unique needs

When you call or email us, you’ll be connected directly to a single team member, Laurie Newhouse, whose sole focus is helping individuals interested in treatment. She helps with pre-admission questions –such as insurance and cost concerns– and begins the process of understanding your loved one’s unique needs. Laurie knows these are difficult calls for many, and is experienced and trained to support you and your loved during this first step.

A path forward

Next, we’ll set up a virtual or in-person meeting with your loved one. This initial meeting is for our team to get to know your family member, their symptoms and to begin recommending a path forward. We have a designated intake team which always includes a therapist and registered dietitian.

We're here to guide you

We understand that eating disorders impact the individual as well as those who they are closest to. We know a big part of successful recovery is collaborating with a patient’s support system. Throughout the entire process you can expect a lot of touch points covering everything from care, to insurance, to finances, to expectations. We’re here to guide you and your family through it all.

Intake to admission can take a little time. This is normal. These are big steps for your loved one to commit to and it’s not always easy to dive right in.

We know everyone can heal, no matter what.
